Padma Lakshmi Speaks Out On Custody Battle With Ex

Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi is so distraught that the news of a brewing custody battle with her ex and baby-daddy - Adam Dell -  has been made public, she decided to put out a statement:

"Ms. Lakshmi believes that family matters should be kept private. She asks that those who join her in wanting the best for her daughter do the same. 24 hours after the New York Post was told about Adam Dell's lawsuit, neither Padma Lakshmi nor her lawyers has received a copy of it; they only learned of it through a statement Mr. Dell provided to the press. Ms. Lakshmi's sole interest lies in preserving the privacy and welfare of her daughter and in working out and fair and amicable agreement out of the media's glare."

It's pretty apparent that Mr. Dell has every intention of making this a public fight....sorry Padma! It's hard being a celebrity, ain't it? *sigh*
