Prince will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement honor at the upcoming BET Awards airing June 27!

BET said they wanted to honor "The Purple One", because he is a "genre smasher," and "virtuoso musician" and "one of the most emotional singers of all time."
YES, YES and YES!
Now, we all can hope that they pick someone that will honor him CORRECTLY for his tribute! We'll be watching a critiquing.
