The 2010 BMI Urban Music Awards took place last night at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, where BMI saluted the songwriters, producers, and music publishers of the most-performed R&B and hip-hop songs this year.
BMI Urban Producer of the Year went to Polow Da Don, Lil Wayne picked up Urban Songwriter of the Year for the second consecutive year. Accepting on the rapper’s behalf were his Cash Money-Young Money cohorts Birdman, Mack Maine, and Tyga, and lastly Will.I.Am was recognized with the President’s Award for his work as an artist, producer, and humanitarian.
