"Kings Of Leon" Say NOOOOO To "GLEE"

Well, it's probably safe to say that EVERYONE is not on the GLEE bandwagon....Kings of Leon (one of my fave rock bands) being one of them!

GLEE creator, Ryan Murphy, is none too pleased with the rock group. Why, you might ask? Well, according to Murphy, they have turned down the opportunity to have their music appear on the popular show because they didn't want to appear to have "sold out."

Ryan Murphy had this to say about them in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
"F--- you, Kings of Leon," Murphy told the magazine, reportedly raising his voice slightly to deliver the barbed response. "They're self-centered a--holes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It's like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of 'Glee' all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music."
WHOA..slow down, cowboy! Although Britney, GaGa, Madonna and others have decided to lend their music to the show doesn't mean EVERYONE would like to do the same. It appears that you are starting to believe your own hype that GLEE is the 2nd coming of Christ, and how dare Kings of Leon turn down your show? PUUUULEAASE!

Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill had this to say about Murphy's rant:
"This whole 'Glee' thing is a shock to us. It's gotten out of hand. At the time of the request, we hadn't even seen the show. It came at the end of that record cycle, and we were over promoting ['Use Somebody']. This was never meant as a slap in the face to 'Glee' or to music education or to fans of the show. We're not sure where the anger is coming from."
We're not sure either, but Murphy may need to have a BIG SEAT! Don't burn your bridges, buddy.....
