Steve Harvey Releases A Statement After Ex-Wife's "Verbal Attack"

Well not really HIM, but his attorney did, but alas!
"We are appalled and aware of the videos and other fabricated documents ... which contained false, misleading, derogatory, disparaging, malicious, explicit and slanderous information about Mr. Harvey, his current wife and others. The ex-wife is fully aware of the court's current orders and permanent injunctions which prohibit either party, their lawyers or representatives from discussing and releasing information on the Internet and to the media. We are taking the necessary legal steps to rectify this matter to the full extent of the law and we will be seeking contempt and sanctions against her for such reprehensible and callous disregard for the court orders. We are saddened that the ex-wife has resorted to such devious and selfish behavior, with a reckless disregard for their minor son, her adult son and Mr. Harvey's other children."
Ut oh!

I'm straddling the fence with this "issue"! On one hand as a woman, I can understand being hurt and scorned that your ex chronically cheated on you and pretty much left you for his mistress. But the other part of me wonders why she chose to make a string of YouTube videos to "slander" your ex and his current family (your son included).

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned!

Dah well.....

Thoughts?

  1. I don't think she was slandering him...it was just her truth. I am not taking sides but let's be honest if your husband of 16 yrs carried it and left you with nothing, then started making millions off of his own made up "best black man in America" image when you know the truth you wouldn't blast his azz??? If it was a white man telling us the real deal he would be a hero, black man a hater, black women even worse an angry bitter azz crazy biatch. Yeah her method was suspect but never-the-less this situation is fishy.

  2. I don't feel this has anything to do w/ race, but to answer your question if it were me...NO, I would not blast him on YouTube (or any other public forum). It proves a bit tacky IMO. Not saying her actions aren't warranted, but caution should've been used esp since they have a young son together.

  3. No ur post has nothing to do with race which I should have clarified but a lot of the other blogs have been very condemning of her and her speaking about their marriage. IMO she is receiving a lot of backlash because black people always think somebody hating and the ex-wife always gets a bad rap and her story is always viewed with a side eyed becuase she's assumed to be "bitter". Same thing with Camille Grammer...not taking anyone's side but just saying that the media is often very judgmental and condemning.

  4. YES YES YES, agree w/ the "ex-wife" thing! but sometimes, we have to use our heads instead of our heart (emotions) when dealing with these sort of things - esp when your ex is famous. ppl are ready to pounce and make judgment calls when stories like this arise. I wish her the best, but I feel bad for their son honestly.
