If you don’t live in the DMV (D.C., Maryland or Virginia) this story might not mean too much to you. But the heart-breaking story of Reggie “Polo” Burwell of the D.C. go-go band TCB should still strike a chord with any music lover or anyone, for that matter, who appreciates the grind and talent of hardworking young entrepreneurs and artists. If you do live in the DMV – and if you listen to go-go music and follow go-go artists – the tragic story of this local rising star means a great deal. According to a statement from Polo’s camp, published in the Washington City Paper, after performing Saturday night, go-go artist Polo began to feel ill and was rushed to Greater Southeast Hospital. There, he fell into a coma. The artist is still hospitalized and has not yet come out of the coma. Rumors swirling this weekend around the D.C. area that the artist was dead are not true. “In the best case scenario, the statement reads, “It’ll be a very long road to recovery. We respect the family’s decisions whatever they may be and we always hope for the best. So as of right now TCB will do what Polo has done all his life…HUSTLE and GRIND. He left us with his dream to watch over it for him. He made sure we all could eat. He changed the game up as with everything he’s done.”This is EXTREMELY sad news especially for the good folks in our native Washington, DC. Please keep your thoughts and prayers coming for Polo!
Prayer changes things!
