The queen of R&B soul Mary J. Blige has been tapped to play the great Nina Simone in a biopic simply titled "Nina". Simone was a singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger and civil rights activist.
The movie will be brought to the sliver screen by Cynthia Mort and focuses on Simone's relationship with her assistant Clifton Henderson, who will be played by David Oyelowo.
The movie is scheduled to shoot in the fall of this year.
