It's no secret that Oscar winning actor Sean Penn has a big heart and voice to match when it comes to his charities, specifically his work in Haiti. Now, he is putting his celebrity to more use by visiting the poor-ridden country by bringing in more star power to increase awareness.....THEEEEEEEE Oprah Winfrey!

The two toured the camp that was set up by Penn’s J/P Human Relief Organization to provide assistance to people displaced by the 2010 earthquake. Penn’s organization has housed more than 50,000 people on what was once a 9-hole golf course.

Wyclef Is OUT Of The Running For President Of Haiti

WELP! He tried, eh?

Sad news for hip hop superstar Wyclef Jean. He has been disqualified as a candidate for president of his earthquake-shattered homeland of Haiti. But Jean is not going down without a fight! He vows to challenge the recent ruling (via his lawyer). Jean took to his Twitter page and said:

“We have met all the requirements set by the laws. And the law must be Respected.” 

He continued in a statement that read in part, “I will be seeking a solution through legal channels, and I urge my countrymen to be patient.”

YEP! He's serious. I'm curious to see how all of this ends.

Wyclef Responds To Death Threats Over Presidency!

People are NUTS!!!! Ever since announcing his bid for President of Haiti, Wyclef Jean has been faced with a firestorm of criticism from EVERYWHERE, including death threats. COME ON!

And now, Wyclef is speaking out about it:

"In the past couple of days we have received a few death threats. Just for our safety we came to an area we feel is secured - that is my town. We're in an area where we're comfortable, the area where we were at before, we weren't comfortable. We know this situation we've embarked on, death threats come with the territory. But beyond that it's not about all those negative information (sic)." Regarding claims that he is not eligible for the role of president, he responded: "The issue of residency, we have proof, five years. Every piece of paper that the commission, the electoral council have asked for, we have delivered. So by law, we have everything. If after Friday we're not approved I will continue doing what I've been doing in Haiti. We'll be respected as a political force. The important thing is I hope we can be part of the big plan."

Again, I wish him nothing but the best! Even with the death threats, he continues to fight on.
