Baby boy Mason Evan weighed in at 6 lbs., 10 oz. “Sal-u twit fam. If you are truly fam you’ll help me welcome the heir to my throne,” the proud papa Tweeted. “[Fatherhood] has been a ride, but I’m loving every minute of it.”CONGRATS!

The "Closer" singer (real name: Shaffer Chimere Smith) and his longtime girlfriend, Atlanta boutique owner Monyetta Shaw, are engaged and expecting their second child together, her rep confirms. Ne-Yo, 31, became a first-time dad in November 2010, when Shaw gave birth to daughter Madilyn Grace. According to a source, baby number two is due very soon -- in October. As she awaits the special arrival, Shaw is already hard at work opening Emaralyn and Ester, a new boutique in Atlanta's Buckhead district. Ne-Yo was over the moon when Madilyn was born last fall. "She's healthy and happy. Feels like I'm in luv for the first time," he tweeted. "Welcoming that lil' girl to the world last night defined for me what 'willing to kill and die for' truly means. Except this time it’s not music. It’s a baby and Ne-Yo, 30, is about to become a first-time father. EBONY sat down with the singer-songwriter at a super exclusive photoshoot planned to help promote his upcoming album Libra Scale. Ne-Yo, who is preparing to attend the ASCAP Awards Friday night in Beverly Hills, talked about how he had traveled home to Atlanta to get some news about the baby. Surprise! He had to come home so he could make the first ultrasound visit with his girlfriend. There’s no word on the sex of the baby because the tiny tot curled up in a ball, leading Ne-Yo to joke that his future progeny is “stubborn.” But, he added, “They didn’t get that one from me.” The star, whose album is due on September 21, is excited about meeting his first child in January. “I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very, very excited about that,” he tells EBONY. “It’s a New Year’s baby and I’m just in a really good place right now.”
