R&B singer Ashanti is set to make her mark back into the music scene with her first single for “The Woman You Love”, featuring Busta Rhymes (who is the newest member of Cash Money Records).

In my opinion, the song has that "classic R&B" feel where Ashanti describes trying her hardest in making a relationship work. 

This song is said to be on Ashanti's 5th studio album and released via her own label, Written Entertainment. GET MONEY!

After a huge break from the music scene, we now can listen new music from R&B star Ashanti entitled “Never Too Far Away”. The song is off the upcoming thriller Dream House starring Daniel Craig (FINE!!! I'm sorry. Everytime I see him or his name anywhere, I have to say that!) and Naomi Watts.

I understand that this isn't really an official first single for Ashanti, but if I can keep it real....I'm not a fan of this song AT ALL!!! It's way too long and anti-climatic.

But hey...WHO AM I?! You be the judge. Get into it under the break....

I'm sure there are folks out there who may utter the words: Ashanti's time has come and gone. But PLEASE don't forgt her place in music. She dominated the charts for quite some time before her hiatus. I'm excited to hear new music from her!

Nelly and girlfriend Ashanti were on hand at Nelly's (co-hosted by Jermaine Dupri) 2010 Black and White Ball in St Louis this past weekend. The Black and White Ball is an annual event that Nelly puts together to raise scholarship money for youth.

The night featured performances from hip-hop vet DMC and Ashanti, who was joined by her beau onstage for a duet.
