Dr. Conrad Murray was sentenced Tuesday to the maximum penalty of four years behind bars for administering a lethal dose of a powerful anesthetic to Michael Jackson. "He violated the trust of the medical community, of his colleagues and of his patient," said Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, "and he has absolutely no sense of remorse, absolutely no sense of fault, and is and remains dangerous." Murray, 58, was convicted of manslaughter in the 2009 death of the pop star at age 50 as he was preparing for a major concert series in the U.K. At a sentencing hearing, Jackson family attorney Brian Panish told the court, "We're are not here to seek revenge. There is nothing that you can do today that will ring back Michael." But the family joined the prosecution in seeking the maximum sentence. As Panish spoke, Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson became teary eyed. Jackson's brothers Randy and Jermaine and sister La Toya also were in the audience section. Murray's attorney David Chernoff, who had argued at trial that Jackson caused his own death by self-administering medication while Murray wasn't looking, suggested Jackson wasn't as vulnerable as prosecutors said. "Michael Jackson was a drug seeker and he sought it out from Dr. Murray , who was wrong in providing it," said Chernoff. "He sought it out from other doctors. He was a powerful, famous, wealthy individual, with lawyers, security and staff and advisors." Asking for probation rather than incarceration, Chernoff pointed to Murray's good work before he treated Jackson and suggested the physician could do more for the community outside of jail. But in a lengthy, blistering response, Pastor said Murray was "involved in a cycle of horrible medicine" and "engaged in a recurring continuous patter of deceit, of lies." By administering propofol to help Jackson sleep, "He engaged in this money for medical madness that simply is not going to be tolerated by me." Murray, who has been in jail since the verdict, was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs and will likely serve his time in a county lockup. The prosecution also requested that Murray pay a staggering $100 million in restitution, the amount that Jackson's estate estimated he would have earned had he completed the concert tour. That issue was postponed for a later hearing.

Conrad Murray Sentenced To The MAXIMUM In Michael Jackson Death

The Verdict Is In: Dr. Conrad Murray Found.....
Dr. Murray was pretty much expressionless when the verdict was read. Was he in shock?!?! I never once believed that Dr. Murray intended on "Killing" Michael Jackson, but let's face it....he damn sure didn't do anything to prevent it from happening. This is what happens when celebs have people around them on payroll who will give and do anything to keep the $$$ rolling in. Hopefully this is a lesson to many of you celebs out there.Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in the drug-overdose death of singer Michael Jackson after a jury deliberated for two days. Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor handed the case to the seven-man, five-woman jury Thursday after closing arguments by prosecutor David Walgren and lead defense lawyer Ed Chernoff. Over nearly six weeks of testimony, jurors heard from 33 prosecution witnesses and 16 defense witnesses. More than 340 exhibits were available in the jury room as the panel mulled a verdict. Jackson, 50, died on June 25, 2009, of an overdose of the surgical anesthetic propofol, aggravated by effects of the sedative lorazepam. Murray, 58, was charged with a single count of involuntary manslaughter. He pleaded not guilty.
The Houston cardiologist, 58, faces a sentence of up to four years in prison. He could also lose his medical license. He also was remanded into custody without bail pending sentencing on Nov. 29th.

Now that the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial has gotten underway for the murder of Michael Jackson, the Jackson family are showing their unwavering support in making sure that Dr. Murray gets his just due for what he allegedly did to their brother and son.

Spotted: RHOBH's Taylor Armstrong
Although her late husband Russell Armstrong decided to leave his family with so many unanswered question about his suicide, his loved ones are left to pick up the pieces and make sense of it all.
Included in that is Russell's estranged widow, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong as she was spotted paying a visit to the cemetery at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.
The Housewife tried to remain anonymous as he was draped in a "chinchilla throw". At least she tried to remain anonymous in style, eh?! Too soon? Sorry.....
There are soooo many rumors floating around about Russell and Taylor's relationship in his last days. And the latest is that Russell had beaten Taylor so badly that she had to have surgery. She had revealed the news to her RHOBH co-star Camille Grammer, and Russell had found out, in return he sent Camille a threatening email to keep her quiet.
Dancers, keep in mind that these are just rumors as of right now, so take it for what it is.
Still so very sad.

Bravo TV Exec And Host Andy Cohen Gives Us An Update On The Status Of "RHOBH"
We're all still trying to process yesterday's very sad news, and looking at how to proceed with the series, which has finished primary production and was set to premiere on Labor Day. We'll let you know what we decide when we do. In the meantime, we're sending our thoughts and prayers to Taylor and the rest of Russell's family.BRAVO has a very TOUGH decision to make on their hands. While their main priority is to their audience and advertisers to put out quality programming, dealing with the death of one of their reality stars is a tough situation to deal with.
Should they carry on with showing Russell and Taylor Armstrong's tumultuous relationship as scheduled? Or should they completely edit out any negative clips of the couple due to sensitivity? I mean, Russell did have young children.
As an avid watcher of the Housewives, I would still want to see how Taylor and Russell's relationship played out and what led to Taylor filing for divorce. But for BRAVO, they have a responsibility to make sure that Taylor is comfortable with what they air.
Hmmmmmm. Decisions.

RHOBH's Taylor Armstrong Releases A Statement About Husband's Suicide
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong has released a statement via her rep about the apparent suicide of her husband, Russell Armstrong:
"Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded. She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter" (5-year-old Kennedy). The statement adds that Armstrong's "thoughts and prayers" are also with Russell’s 11- and 13-year-old sons from previous relationships. He had other young children? OMG!
I'm hearing reports that Taylor has NOT told her daughter that her father has died (how do you tell a young child that?!?!?), and also that BRAVO has their reality stars on lockdown from talking to press/media about the suicide. But many of them have taken to their Twitter accounts to order up support for Taylor and her daughter.
Some are posing the question if reality shows do more harm than good for people, especially those involved in marriages? It was no secret that Taylor was abused by her husband, even by his own admission. Did being on Housewives cause him to want to end his life? Or was it just a catalyst?
I guess we'll never know....

Amy Winehouse's Autopsy Results.....
The cause of Amy Winehouse's death will remain a mystery for at least another fortnight as autopsy results found Monday were inconclusive. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Metropolitan Police will investigate her death, which was given a "Section 20" postmortem, which means they have reason to believe the death was violent or suspicious. That being said, it was earlier Monday reported that police did not find any reason for suspicion. The inquest, as the investigation is known, is being closed until October 26th so that investigators can look into the death; toxicology test results are expected in 2-4 weeks. On Sunday, the Mirror reported that Winehouse had been on a weeks-long bender and that friends claimed she died from a cocktail of alcohol and ecstasy; whether that is true remains to be seen. Her mother Janice, who saw Winehouse just the day before she died, said that she seemed out of it and the death seemed sadly inevitable.WHEW! And we continue to wait....

BREAKING NEWS: Amy Winehouse Found Dead
I'm honestly speechless. Such a talented person to be gone at such a young age. WHEW!!! Addiction is REAL people. Hug your loved ones Dancers, especially those suffering from addiction.
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, known for her smoky soul voice and her struggle with drink and drugs, has been found dead at her flat in north London, police said. She was 27 years old. The Grammy award-winning soul singer with her trademark beehive battled with well-documented addictions that she documented in her hit single "Rehab". Her death is being treated as unexplained, Scotland Yard said. "Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 4:05 pm (1505 GMT) today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased," a police statement said. "On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene. "Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained." London Ambulance Service said it had been called to the flat at 3:54 pm (1454 GMT) and sent two ambulances. Police officers remained on duty outside her home Saturday. There was no immediate comment from her agents. Winehouse rocketed to fame after winning five Grammy awards off the back of her 2006 second album "Back to Black" and the hit single "Rehab". In the run-up to her live return, Winehouse spent a week earlier this year at an addiction treatment clinic in London, reportedly at the suggestion of her father, Mitch, over concerns that she was drinking too much before her shows. But Winehouse pulled out of her European comeback tour following a disastrous opening performance in Serbia on June 18. She was booed at the performance in Belgrade, as she appeared to be too drunk to sing. Some 20,000 people gathered for the highly-promoted concert at the sixth-century Kalemegdan fortress, but many soon left. During the concert, which lasted about 90 minutes, Winehouse could only mumble some of the lyrics, failing to follow her band. Winehouse left the stage twice, with many fans showing their displeasure despite her band's attempts to calm the crowd. "Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances," a statement from her representatives said. "Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen." She had also been scheduled to perform in Istanbul, Athens, Bilbao in Spain, Locarno in Switzerland, Italy's Lucca festival, Switzerland's Paleo Festival in Nyon, Nova Jazz and Blues Night in Wiesen, Austria, and Poland's Bydgoszcz Artpop Festival. Known for her distinctive voice and beehive hairdo, Winehouse's debut album "Frank" was released in 2003 and brought her wide acclaim. It went triple platinum in Britain. The follow-up, "Back to Black", was a worldwide smash hit, reaching number one in Britain and number two in the US charts. It went six times platinum in Britain and double platinum in the United States. She married Blake Fielder-Civil in Miami in May 2007 but they had a tempestuous relationship. He spent part of their marriage behind bars for a vicious attack on a pub landlord and a subsequent attempt to cover it up. They divorced in July 2009.Source

RIP: Elizabeth Taylor Has Passed Away!
Taylor died "peacefully today in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles," said a statement from her publicist. She was hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure, "a condition with which she had struggled for many years. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be."Ha! Always had a sense of humor about herself! RIP
Though a two-time Oscar winner -- for "Butterfield 8" (1960) and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" (1966) -- Taylor was more celebrated for simply being Elizabeth Taylor: sexy, glamorous, tempestuous, fragile, always trailing courtiers, media and fans. She wasn't above playing to that image -- she had a fragrance called "White Diamonds" -- or mocking it.
"I am a very committed wife," she once said. "And I should be committed too -- for being married so many times."

A Bright Spot For The Notorious B.I.G. Death Case!
A task force made up of local and federal law enforcement agencies is actively pursuing leads into the 1997 slaying of hip hop artist Christopher Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls or Notorious B.I.G., according to two sources familiar with the investigation. According to one law enforcement source, the investigation into the 13-year-old unsolved case was "reinvigorated" months ago as a result of new information, but the source would not elaborate further because of the ongoing investigation that includes the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney's Office and the FBI. On March 9, 1997, Wallace, 24, was shot and killed while riding in a Suburban that was driving away from a music industry party at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Los Angeles police said a lone gunman in a Chevy Impala pulled alongside the Suburban and opened fire on Wallace, who was in the passenger seat. Witnesses described the suspect as being an African-American man wearing a suit and bow tie. The main theory behind shooting was payback in a so-called rap war between East and West Coast hip hop artists and their record companies -- Bad Boy Entertainment in New York, which represented Wallace, and Death Row Records, headed by Marion "Suge" Knight, in Los Angeles. Six months earlier in Las Vegas, a gunman opened fire on a car driven by Knight, killing one of his top artists Tupac Shakur. That murder remains unsolved also. "East Coast was Biggie, West Coast was Tupac," Wallace's mother Voletta Wallace told a filmmaker in the 2002 documentary "Biggie and Tupac." "Come on now, you're messing with lives here and that's exactly what happened. Two lives were lost as a result of what? Stupidity?" Voletta Wallace told the filmmaker. Retired Los Angeles Police Detective Russell Poole, who worked on the Wallace case, told CNN that he believes Knight was behind the murder, even though the Death Row Records' boss was serving time on a probation violation at the time. "Suge Knight ordered the hit," Poole said, adding that he believes it was arranged by Reggie Wright Jr., who headed security for Death Row Records.More under the break....
