Style Shutdown: "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's" Rooney Mara At The NYC Premiere!

DEEEEEEEVINE!!!

Rooney Mara was picturesque, in my opinion, at the NYC premiere of her film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, outside the Ziegfeld Theatre.

Mara sported a black Prabal Gurung dress (that was backless) with Christian Louboutin heels.

I MEAN!!!! So fashionable....

Since the dress was such a statement, Mara was wise to keep her hair simple with a smooth ponytail and a red lip. LOVES!

Speaking to NPR about the movie and reading the books, she had this to say:

“Before I had my first audition, I hadn’t even read the books yet. I wasn’t crazy obsessed yet but after I got that call I started to get really excited and I knew I had a really good chance at it. So I went and read all three books and I became obsessed with the character and I couldn’t imagine my life without playing her.”

One of the year's most highly anticipated films, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" starring Daniel Craig (GAWWWD!) and newbie Rooney Mara (The Social Network), is almost upon us! And last night, the stars graced the red carpet for the London premiere of the film at the Odeon Leicester Square.

It appears the Mara, who plays 'Lisbeth Salander" in the film has kept her hair the same way similar to her character. She spoke about the transformation recently: "I was very happy to cut my hair off. It made it easier to get into the character. I was happy to get rid of it. Really I was. My wardrobe has completely changed. It had to, partly because of my hair and partly because I stopped feeling comfortable in what I used to wear. I don't feel comfy in those clothes anymore because I have been living as Lisbeth for 14 months."

Dancers, if you're a book lover like myself then you are more than thrilled that one of best selling trilogy novels as of late, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", has already been turned into a movie. And now, the official trailer is here!!!!!! You should be excited.... 

Hitting theaters very soon, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" (the first of 3 movies) stars my boyfriend (in my head) Daniel Craig and budding new actress Rooney Mara. It chronicles journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig), who is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a young computer hacker.

Actress Rooney Mara Gets BLOODY For "W" Magazine

The Social Network actress Rooney Mara is the new covergirl for a jaw dropping cover of W magazine's 'Movie Issue'.

Rooney is featured with “Salander” tattooed on her chest with bloody fingers and facial piercings. Creepy, eh?

So what's up with the get-up? She is currently shooting the movie for the popular novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (out December 2011) as Lisbeth Salander.

Director David Fincher had this to say about the audition process for Mara:

“I wanted her from the beginning. Rooney maybe a trust-fund baby from football royalty but she’s level headed and hard working. It’s so odd how who people are comes out in auditions. We didn’t make it easy for Rooney and there was no way to dissuade her.”
