The BET Hip Hop awards aired last night, and ummmmmm.....normally I don't watch the awards (not my thing, ya know....). But, I'm always interested in watching the cyphers of rappers (future stars, past and present) gettin' busy with showing off their craft. 

But last night....ONE crew rose above EVERYONE else with their lyrical abilities: Eminem and his Slaughterhouse brethren. WHEW!!! Give these boys a vacation...they deserve it!

Oh, and Eminem......THAT WHITE BOY REAL!!!

Famed rapper Eminem's daughter Hailie Jade Mathers is now 15 years old, and appears to be a well adjusted young lady as told on her Twitter account.

She lives with her dad in Detroit, MI and he has done a great job with keeping her out of the limelight (that's a good thing!).

Oh yeah, and according to her Twitter, it seems she has a crush on Chris Brown! Hey Dad....how do you feel about that one?????????

New Music Video: Dr. Dre Ft. Eminem And Skylar Grey “I Need a Doctor”

LOOOOOVING the concept of this video!

Dancers check out the newest video from Dr. Dre (finally!!!) featuring his protege Eminem and singer/songwriter Skylar Grey for “I Need a Doctor” - the first official single from his long-awaited album Detox.

In the 7-minute+ vid.....

....the clip opens with the Compton rapper getting into a car accident while nostalgic images of him as a husband, father, and entertainer flash across the screen. Years later, his loyal protégé Eminem is seen standing by his side while he remains on life support. Producer Alex Da Kid and singer-songwriter Skylar Grey make cameos as doctors who try to bring him back to life.When he does finally awaken, Dre wastes no time getting back into shape, emerging stronger than ever. The video closes with a shot of him visiting the late Eazy-E’s grave.

IMO, it's a very touching video and a great way to welcome Dre back into the spotlight! Let us know your thoughts on the vid.

Eminem To Hit The Big Screen Again!

I have to admit that I'm quite excited about this news. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance in 8 Mile! U?

According to Billboard Magazine, Eminem has landed his first movie role in 8 years with "Southpaw", a film about a boxing welterweight fighter who must overcome tragedy while fighting for the title. 

The film will be co-produced by Eminem's Shady Films managers Paul Rosenberg and Stuart Parr. Also, Kurt Sutter, who has signed on to write the screenplay says: 

"He [Eminem] shared so much of his personal struggle in this raw and very honest album, one that I connected with on a lot of levels," says Sutter. "He is very interested in the boxing genre, and it seemed like an apt metaphor, because his own life has been a brawl. In a way, this is a continuation of the '8 Mile' story, but rather than a literal biography, we are doing a metaphorical narrative of the second chapter of his life."

I'm excited about this....

I love it.’ That’s not what you think when it’s happening. You know you don’t like it but you’re staying, so it’s almost like you must love it because you’re not leaving. Every word in that song is true. It would take somebody who’s been on the inside to understand how magical those lyrics are. Everybody loves the song but the lyrics can never hit home until you’ve seen it, witnessed it, in your home or experienced it yourself.”

Eminem's Full "60 Minutes" Interview

Eminem sat down with CNN's Anderson Cooper (my friend in my head) for CBS’ “60 Minutes” where they chronicled Eminem’s rise to fame as becoming the biggest-selling artist of the decade.

In the interview, Eminem revealed how he stores all his lyrics on notepads (aka “stacking ammo”), not being interested in meeting his father, refraining from using profanity in his house, being two hours away from dying of a drug overdose, and commencing with his first stadium show since being sober.

Eminem And 50 Cent Prank Lloyd Banks!

In true 50 Cent fashion, he is back to his old tricks again!

This time he brought along his friend Eminem whom both decided to prank Lloyd Banks backstage during the Em and Jay-Z joint concert. They confront Banks about turning down a verse from Em until he finds out it was all a joke. They then surprise him with a gold plaque for his hit single “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley”.

Jay-Z & Eminem At Their “Home & Home” Concert

Last night, hip hop heaveyweights Jay-Z and Eminem took to the stage at Detroit’s Comerica Park for the first night of  their “Home & Home” concert.

As if the concert couldn't get any bigger with these two superstars, also joining the men for the concert were B.O.B., Drake, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre....NIIIIIIIICE!

 

The concert will continue with another show in Detroit tonight and then another show at Yankees Stadium on September 13th and 14th.

I keep telling yall.....he ain't NOTHING To play with!

Proving that he is one of the greats in the music biz, Eminem has just crossed the 2 million records sold mark.

Not since Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed a Dream” has anyone sat in the number one spot for six weeks, until now. Also, he is the only artist to go double platinum this year.

Damn, the music biz is in bad shape!

Nonetheless, CONGRATS to Eminem!

New Music Video: Eminem Ft. Rihanna "Love The Way You Lie"

LOVE this song.....

Check out Eminem's brand new video for Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna.

Both Em and Rihanna tackle domestic violence in the vid (art imitating life, eh?) directed by Joseph Kahn. “The concept of ‘Love the Way You Lie’ was essentially a look at the relationship that Eminem was in with his wife, Kim, so I kind of felt like I was playing Eminem a little bit, and Megan Fox was kind of playing Kim,” Lost's star Dominic Monaghan tells MTV. “We’re supposed to be desperately in love, like Bonnie and Clyde style, like Sid and Nancy, John and Yoko … Eminem and Kim.”

HEAVY!

FYI, this song and video is not for the faint of heart. The message is an important one, so if you can walk away with that, then you've won.

Rihanna Speaks On Controversial Song With Eminem

Eminem's new hit song with Rihanna, Love The Way You Lie,  has received a lot of backlash from critics that feel the message of the song is really intense and promotes domestic violence. But many others (as myself) have taken a strong liking to the song. I mean, it's pretty much all you hear on the radio now and has stayed high on the singles chart.

Have you ever listed to the lyrics? Em raps: “I laid hands on her/I’ll never stoop so low again/I guess I don’t know my own strength” and Rihanna singing, “Just gonna stand there and watch me burn, but that’s alright because I like the way it hurts.”

Now, Rihanna is speaking about why she felt is was necessary for her to record the tune:

“I knew if he sent me a record there must be something to it,” Rihanna explained of how she was brought on board. “It couldn’t just be, ‘Oh, Duh! She was in that relationship so we have to get her.’ “The lyrics were so deep, so beautiful and intense. It’s something that I understood, something I connected with. It’s something that, you know, we’ve both experienced, you know, on different sides, different ends of the table. He pretty much just broke down the cycle of domestic violence and it’s something that people don’t have a lot of insight on.”

I really appreciate the song, and felt it was done in a way that makes people think. Remember, these two are artists and this is their for  of expression.

Eminem Talks About Drugs And How His Kids Keep Him Sober

Rapper Eminem is opening up about his past drug use:

"I used to get pills wherever I could," he tells the New York Times. "I was just taking anything that anybody was giving to me." 

DAMN! 

"I felt like Bugs Bunny in rehab," he says. "When Bugs Bunny walks into rehab, people are going to turn and look. People at rehab were stealing my hats and pens and notebooks and asking for autographs. I couldn't concentrate on my problem."

Ya know I feel for these celebs at times. YES, they have an incredible life, but when they want to be normal and "regular", its hard for them. Catch 22......

But now that he appears to be on the right path, he is crediting his children for that!

"I love them so much and they've helped me through so many things," he says of his biological daughter Hailie Jade and his two adopted daughters, Lainey and Whitney.
